My Trundle bed story

If you want something bad enough – YOU’LL find a way!

Sometimes what you learn from the things you do, is more important
than the THING you did – Me.

Alright I sat out on a mission to make my son a bed.

We bought a new matress and box spring, so I said hey

why not a new bed!

We searched online and he saw a trundle bed and said “I love that one”

So I researched them, the most expensive one was $1100

the least expensive was $700.

So , instead..me being a lil sneaker when it somes to savin’ a buck..

designed a bed for him and here’s what I came up with:

Materials:

6 2×4′s

3 1×6′s

5 1×2′s

6 1×4′s

(all UNTREATED)

4 bolts – 4 1/2″ long
4 bolts – 3″ long

8 washers
8 nuts

hammer, saw, screws (I used drywall screws
a drill gun is always handy)

4 metal brackets for the inside corners

He loved it sooo much, just like a homemade

card you receive from your kids.. It just MEANT more.

He got to help build it.. and I got to see his face when it was finished!

He learned how to build a bed.. for $50..
I learned the gratitude on HIS face was priceless
